Day 1: Benevento
Benevento, renowned as the City of Witches, will be traversed by Magical Paths, offering visitors and residents an emotional journey through history, art, and legend. This experience is made possible through collaboration with musicians and street artists, who will reenact the magical rituals of the “janare” at different stops along the tour. We will uncover the essence of Benevento, delving into its mysterious and esoteric soul, creating a suspended dream that hovers between history and reality.
Day 2: San Lupo
Small town in Sannio, near the municipalities of Guardia Sanframondi and San Lorenzo Maggiore. Village of narrow lanes and ancient alleys that whisper mysteries of the past. At the entrance of the inhabited center, you’ll find an arched bridge known as “The Witches’ Bridge,” spanning a steep precipice. It is in this Benevento town that scenes from the Vargo film titled “Janara” were
shot, a short film that aptly encapsulates the sense of folklore and the enigmatic atmosphere of these places, where history slowly intertwines with the modernity of a time that seems to have come to a standstill in San Lupo.
Day 3: Janua – The Museum of Witches in Benevento
A journey into a mysterious world of history, art, traditions, and legends of Benevento and the Sannio region. A developing path to discover the Janare and our magic. A world made of the sacred and the profane. The visit is enriched by a video installation curated by local artists and a section called “JANUA – Magistra Historiae” that houses workshops, a library, and works by artists related to the rituals and monuments of city.

Day 1: Benevento
Benevento, Città delle Streghe, verrà attraversata dai Percorsi Magici che permetteranno ai visitatori e ai cittadini di vivere un’esperienza emozionale tra storia, arte e leggenda grazie alla collaborazione con musicisti e artisti di strada che riproporranno nelle varie tappe del tour i riti magici delle “janare”: scopriremo la Città di Benevento attraverso la sua anima misteriosa ed esoterica, diventando un sogno sospeso tra storia e realtà.
Day 2: San Lupo
Piccolo paese del Sannio vicino ai comuni di Guardia Sanframondi e San Lorenzo Maggiore, borgo di viuzze e vicoli antichi che sussurrano misteri del passato. All’entrata del centro abitato, si trova un ponte arcuato detto “Il Ponte delle Streghe”, al di sopra di un precipizio vertiginoso. E’ in questo paese beneventano che sono state girate le scene del lavoro cinematografico della Vargo intitolato appunto “Janara”, un film che ben racchiude il senso della credenza popolare e del clima enigmatico di questi posti,
dove la storia lentamente si insinua nella modernità di un tempo che a San Lupo sembra essersi fermato.
Day 3: Janua – il Museo delle Streghe di Benevento
Nato da un’attenta ricerca sui “riti di passaggio”. Il museo, impostato in modo divulgativo, regala al pubblico un viaggio all’interno di un mondo misterioso tra storia, arte, tradizioni e leggende di Benevento e del Sannio. Un percorso in divenire alla scoperta delle Janare e della nostra magia. Un mondo fatto di sacro e un profano. La visita è arricchita da una video installazione curata da
artisti locali e da una sezione “JANUA – Magistra Historiae” che ospita laboratori, una biblioteca e opere di artisti inerenti ai riti e ai monumenti di Benevento.
